Fun Friday
Today, is our Fun Friday! That means that we don’t do any of our regular school work. We don’t even start the morning off with Mozart. To catch you up on how we ended our lessons for this week, the girls spent the day yesterday watching The Magic Flute on DVD, which was checked out from Netflix. They collected and smashed soda pop cans for recycling, and drew pictures of what they “saw” while listening to Mozart’s “The Marriage of Figaro”. My teen watched “The Day Regan Was Shot” with her dad. Of course, there is much more, but those were the highlights of the day. Movies are logged into their learning journals in one master list, and then under appropriate categories such as “history” or “music appreciation”.
Today, for Fun Friday, we are going to get our hands dirty and make some dorodango balls. This is frugality at its finest, since all that one needs for dorodango balls is mud, and possibly a cloth to use for polishing later. For complete instructionsClick Here.
By making the dorodango balls, we will not only have fun on this Fun Friday, but we will do a science experiment that is also an example of a hand craft from China.
Have a Great Day!
