Make Your Own on Thursday
Baby powder recipes have become entirely too complicated. Purchase a box of cornstarch for less than a dollar, and you have a very nice, hypoallergenic baby powder. One box will last you quite a long time.
Do you need a facial? Put a generous coating of olive oil on your face before bed, clean it off in the morning with warm water, and you will have beautiful skin, regardless of skin type. This is also the cure for many types of acne.
For a luxurious body scrub, mix salt and olive oil in your hand, and use where needed. Be careful of making your bath tub slippery!
Use olive oil for a conditioning treatment for your hair.
Instead of baby oil, which can actually dry your skin, use olive oil as a moisturizer for yourself and baby.
If you would like to liberate yourself from having to buy expensive cleaning products, try purchasing a bar of Zote brand soap for less than a dollar. Simply boil the soap just long enough to make the water white, and pour into water that is running in the washing machine, or rub your dishcloth on it as needed for washing dishes. One bar will wash many loads of laundry and dishes.
When cooking pastas, consider making your own sauces, rather than buying canned or jarred varieties. You can often find sauce mixes for pasta sauces that are very inexpensive. For example, I chose to purchase the packages of Alfredo mix for a little over a dollar instead of buying the jar of Alfredo for almost four dollars.
Have a Great Day!
